I am one of the few that dig the flared look but only if the car has big shoes 17's or bigger 9" or wider. And the only reason for meat that big is if your pushing some HP.

Yup Jeff - PO was in PA or so and used to do SCCA auto-x as well so it's possible he attended BMWCCA stuff as well.
