Wow. Gorgeous example. Your M3 is ridiculously nice, too. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, that was a long time ago, early 2013 - the dent was pushed out like PDR/DentPro. Went on to win 1st in the Legends Concours later that year and again in 2015. I'm not saying the CCA judges are top notch but it required minimal body work and the repaired area is truly undetectable.

Perfect! As long as the original paint wasn't messed with! Would love to see this thing one of these days! Are going to the legends concours again this year?Yes, that was a long time ago, early 2013 - the dent was pushed out like PDR/DentPro. I did have the QP resprayed in addition to the hood & front valance (to address some rock chips) but the rest is original paint. The important part is all VIN tags are present.
I've got the car entered in BMWCCA's Octoberfest concours the week after the Monterey classic car week. BMW's 100th anniversary celebration is going to bring out a record number of BMWs this year. I'm having some discussion with "the Boss" about the future of the car. It might be a good time to seek a new custodian.
Cheers!!

Yes, but that was a long time ago in a place far, far away. Now, the 2016 Golf R with DCC & DSG has got my attention. But they're not cheap. I could probably do a S52 transplant on the E30 for less. I'd end up with the ultimate E30 (IMO) that would run with the R, until we get to the twisties. At that point, the R would walk away with it's AWD & DSG. I may test the waters in Monterey.

I've had some discussions with Dwight at Zionsville and Chris Castro in CA about a conversion. Seems like the S50/52 - and OBD1 - conversion is a well documented process now. I would't be opposed to a S54 but I've heard the S54 presents some fabrication issues, which I'm not sure I want to get into. A good fall project after Monterey, if the R doesn't convince me otherwise.
