do you know the material that he used to seal the intake manifold
I dont. He has the receipt from Dinan for it though, so I cant imagine its too shabby.

Valve adjustment is getting done first thing...after that, its on to the track

Greg....what tracks are 3/4 an hour from Boston? NHIS I presume, but LRP is alot further then that, if thats what else you had in mind.

I said an hour and 3/4. That would be LRP maybe 2.5 tops. I hope to pick up my car tomorrow. Mine will be roughly 6800 total. Kinda wish I had waited and found such a nice steal as you got.

But on second note, I could not afford the up keep of the S14 engine. Nor do I want to pay the surcharge to insure the letter M.

Greg, sorry about that, misread the post. Yeah, LRP is about 2 hours. Better then that, WGI is only about 5.5 or so. As for the insurance, its not too bad. With everything (liability and comp), its about $1400 a year, but when I pay off the loan, it ought to drop to about $800, which is more then do-able. Either way, its about $250 less then a E36 M3, so I make out better all the way around.

As for the S14, yeah, it could be an expensive hassle, but I knew that getting into it. At the very least, I know have a car that I believe is worth putting some money into.

Yeah, can't say I blame you for jumping on it as they are becoming increasingly rare. I would yank the S14 and store it for awile then drive the car with a M50/52 variant for a bit. In say 15 years put the original back in.

just drive it how it is, then if something happens to the motor rebuild it... that is unless you can get a spare S14 and rebuild that while stile driving the car... I was going to do that, but plans changed, I sold the motor, then blew mine and had to rebuild it right then and there...

Good point Ryan. I might have a suspect head, but am hoping to make it the season on this one and then start reworking over the next winter. If the bottom end is still strong, what are the pluses/minuses of going with something like a Turner Evo III+ head on a stock bottom end?
