I am the guy that he fucking ridiculed for having a cage that, and I quote: "Was the guy trying to build a jungle gym for his kids to play in or a cage in a race car? That entire thing is overdone and a waste of time." I've never talked to the Trent, I'm new to the forum, and he goes around handing out remarks like that?

I figured that you would have something to say as well. The cage has been looked at by an SCCA tech inspector and it is just fine. So go on with your useless babble about how useless and overdone it is, but keep in mind that this isnt going to be your run of the mill E30. With the mods done to this motor, it's going to be in the neighborhood of 260RWHP and the car will probably weigh in around 2200-2300 lbs. I feel a lot better about having a cage that is overbuilt with that kind of power in a stripped E30. So your insightful comments, while amusing, dont have much weight.

I would expect Jordan to chime in next... You guy's exemplify what this site is all about, nothing but a bunch of teenage kids who think they know it all and have answers for everything. I enjoy certain aspects of the site, as do other E30 guys I know, but frankly it's not worth posting or adding to the community here without fear of getting your nuts trampled by a bunch of kids(most of whom are not old enough to even drive). So I will just go on lurking as I usually do. I just couldnt resist posting a remark in this thread because Trent wasout of line with me in the past.

Funny, it seems like Trent really gets his kicks by having all of these kids swinging from his nuts when it comes to his car. Must be a real boost to your ego Trent... :roll:

I really wouldn't use an SCCA tech inspection as a benchmark, the SCCA's tech regs are an absolute joke. I was working with a shop last weekend doing inspections for an upcoming NASA club race, and we had a new guy with an e30 going ballistic because we wouldn't pass his cage. This "cage" was a glorified bolt in roll bar with no diagonal bar in the hoop, no seat back brace or bar mounting it, and two tiny little ERT bars for the doors. An absolute joke of a cage, yet he had run 7 SCCA club races with it, and had been signed off every time.
