I lost my license because at the time of the accident, I had no current insurace. My curreny policy had just expired, and I was going in to start a new one on Friday of that week.

Gotta love Murphy's Law...

Was anyone hurt? What happened to the other car?

I fractured my sternum and nearly broke my collar bone. I was unable to sit, lay down, or get even get up on my own for nearly two months. The other car looked 10 times worse than mine. Amazingly, the girl was not hurt at all, just very shaken up.

one of our customers just did something similar with his M3.
Swerved to avoid a cab driver, went straight into a granite post.
He hit the winsheild.... very lucky to walk away with some scratches.

Thanks for all the kind words, guys.

I don't think of it as time and money down the drain anymore. I did for a long time at first, and I was a big baby about the whole thing for a while. But I realized that I had SHITLOADS of fun working on that car, and I had even more fun driving it. It was an invaluable learning tool, and it's going to make the next one so much better.

Most people who see those pics are still in awe that I even survived that accident. It still amazes me every time.

If you're going to write off a car, do it in style! Awesome effort. Awesome you survived too. Shows how good E30's really are.


It's a shame to see it again, but, meh, you've ot another one coming in a couple of weeks anyway.

what you need tp do is keep a picture of the wrecked car in your glove box of your new project. its like passing the torch.
