That's correct. The factory hard line is still available for purchase new, however it must be bent to the exact angle required - https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...mm-34326755555
The chase bays line eliminates this headache, and seems worth it to me since I'll be doing the labor myself.

and I thought Ireland Engineerings piece was overpriced...

Im pretty sure the IE piece only replaces the stock rubber line (still need hard line from master)
That one piece line from chase bays eliminates the need for the hard line and connects straight from master to slaveLeave a comment:

What did you end up doing for the clutch hydraulic - is that a one-piece line that I see? I am considering using this rather than dealing with the two-piece OEM set up for my swap. The one in your pic looks similar. We definitely need to do that before you back up north. When’s that all going down??
Happy 3-25 day everyone!!
I celebrated today by getting the last piece of the 5speed swap, aka “kill the dream killer” project . The shaft. It’s nice to have friends that will let you grab their shaft when they aren’t using it anymore

Picked that up and gathered the rest of the goodies together for a pic... it’s all there

I’ve spent about the same total on everything individually as I would’ve to have just bought a complete “kit” but most of my parts are new. Should be a damn good feeling having that stick in my hand... lol
Enough of that now. I plan on dropping off the car this Thursday night and upon my return 3 days later, I will celebrate with a clutch drop hahaLeave a comment:

Honestly Im not sure. Ive scrapped that idea anyways and picked up a G260 already. It was going to need too much monkeying around to make it work and then a good deal popped up locally.Leave a comment:

Cool, I'm going to start collecting parts soon. I hope to get mine done by the end of the year.Sssquid Chip + 19# Injectors was worth the money, especially since my injectors were nasty.
I dont have the time/ patience/ space to do the swap myself. Im going to have ian take care of it for me. I trust his skills and the price is about 1/2 of the shop rate. Still not cheap, but worth it IMO

Are you planning on doing the install yourself? And how did the sssquid chip workout for you?
G260 has been purchased.
Just placed an order for some of the smaller items
- insulator boot & selector joint from Garagistic
- Guide Pins for the DSSR & New Giubo Bolts & Nuts from Ireland Engineering
I still need a few little things like the slave cylinder, probably replacing the clutch master and also the entire clutch setup...and then I need a driveshaft and likely a CSB to go along with it.
At that point, I should be ready to go. Im really hoping to have this all completed by the end of this month. I really cant wait to have a 5 speed E30 again. The auto has been mehhh at best, and only that feeling when Im sitting in traffic. Im hoping all of these smaller parts that Im buying new will get me a nice smooth shifting experience that I love with E30sLeave a comment:
