In the wise words of Ice Cube, today was a good day.

I’ve had a recent wobble that has been irritating the F out of me, and I was thinking about getting new tires to just kill two birds with one stone but new tires aren’t in the cards at the moment. I was under the car messing with the loose exhaust and noticed that the rear wheel weights were nearly falling off, so I knew that at least a balance was needed. Headed to JMP this morning and had them rebalance the wheels and it turns out one of the wheels is a little bent. Awesome!

Good thing I have a full size spare. :) Cars great now , so I figured I’d keep the momentum going when I got home and fixed the OBC temp sensor. George Graves still sells these and if your temp sensor doesn’t work, you’re neglecting a super easy fix. Find it here

Spent too much time on trying to make it clean but I also wanted to never deal with this again down the road.

I’ll get the spare straightened and all new tires installed once Discount Tire Direct has a nice offer, but she’s ready for more abuse...

Hopefully I get one of the scholarships I applied for this year because easing the financial burden of higher learning will help spend my hard earned cash on these money pits

and though the rockers are noisy, they are holding up well as I show them no mercy in the canyons when Im living in the 4-6k rpms

A serious bummer on the i motor, but hopefully this moves your stroker build along quickly!

    It's not always about cost.

Kind of true. It's not good practice to use rockers on a different lobe than what they were broken in on, that being said, we have a machine that reconditions the rocker pads so they can be reused.

Also, side note, we have encountered many broken rockers at the race track (ours and others' cars) and swapped in used rockers between heats (or during an endurance race) and haven't had ill effects.

Typically a rocker breaks when the rev limiter is set higher than the stock springs allow (we always max at 6800 for stock springs), or a driver inadvertently misses a shift. Last year we built a nice m20 for an endurance car, and put a stock ECU in it. Went to support the car for the first 14hr and they broke a rocker just a couple hours in, had to swap it out (new IE HD rocker at that). Once I looked at the track datalog, I saw they were shifting at 7100! The owner put a chip in it thinking he "was going faster" with the higher limiter, but the stock-ish m20 actually drops power significantly after 6000.

/threadjack, back to your regular programing. :)

A little free time this weekend but only time spent on the E30 was revving the snot out of it in the canyons. A friend and I hit Little Tujunga Canyon

A wonderful December day in SoCal

    Also got some fun mail...

let’s see how it will do at the smog. I think putting the stock chip back in is a must but not sure about the injectors, they are “19#” injectors but that’s with a 3.5 bar. E30s have a 3bar regulator stock, so I’m not sure how that changes things.

    Thanks guys!

This thing is my daily driver, so I needed it back ASAP!... it took longer than I wanted honestly, but that was just sh!tty timing with Thanksgiving and stuff. I might've taken longer if the weather was nice because I was daily driving my Datsun Roadster while this one was down and it gets a bit chilly with open top freeway driving.
