Very new to the E30 community and to making build threads. I bought this rust free running and driving 325e about 2 weeks ago. Will have more pics coming soon.

Welcome to the community, and your new addiction. Any plans for your new 325E?
So far just getting it running right. The car has a rich condition and starts breaking up under load. Chalked it up to bad injectors, worn distributor cap, and a faulty engine coolant temp sensor. Also planning on rebuilding the shifter at some point soon.
Had a chance to give an update. I changed the old stock injectors to Bosch GenIII injectors and changed the distributor cap and rotor. Still waiting on an engine coolant temp sensor. Ordered a Bosch blue plug ECT from autozone. Its been delayed twice getting shipped out, debating on canceling the order completely and ordering from Rock Auto.

So I finally had time to rebuild my shifter and change my ECT (blue plug). the car runs fine till the end of the block then it bogs and backfires and doesn't want to move...I don't know where to go with it as far as diagnosis. Any advise would be greatly appreciated
The plastic bumper front and rear diving board is an interesting combo, what year is your car?
Rust free is a tough one in the North East! Looks like a great start.
Have you checked your fuel pump / gas tank? I would pull your rear seat and check the condition of the gas tank. If the car has sat there is a good chance rust has built up in the tank, which may be clogging the fuel pump and giving you your bogging condition.
Haven't had time to post an update. So long story short, the car needs a new ecu and harness. I caved in and took it to my local e30 guy. hopefully getting the car back soon. Just picked up a set of late model fogs used and most of the parts needed to finish up the front end of the car.
Assuming the car is still an eta, as you called it a 325e, you replaced low impendence injectors with high impedence. Seeing as how you replaced the injectors with those Bosch Gen3 units, you have a major piece that you'd need to change to go from Motronic 1.0 to Motronic 1.3.
I hope you used this as an opportunity to make an upgrade to the 1.3 and will just wind the shit out of that eta. Eventually you can swap the head and you have already done the hard part with the wiring harness? I hope your local E30 guy suggested it.
What are your long term plans for the car?

Thanks for the info. I had no idea and he didn't suggest upgrading from 1.0 to 1.3. Right now I'm just trying to get the car running right. On a college student budget so no real big plans for the drivetrain yet but on the fence whether to do a turbo m20 build or just swap in an s52. Want to get the car repainted or wrapped first and fix up some issues with the chassis so will most definitely being running a stock eta for a couple years.
