that chevelle looks great, and yes a 383 stroker would be a great build for him.

Just the fact that the 396 was a factory produced engine for the 68 Chevelle. 415lb-ft ain't nothin' to snear at either.Last edited by Koony; 09-23-2006, 05:47 PM.sigpicComment

I'm not doubting your knowledge of muscle cars, but the 454 wasn't introduced until 1970. the SS396 was a factory option for the 68's. My boss is a collector of classic Chevelles (he has four of them) so I see (and occasionally drive) these cars on a daily basis.
We had a 63 Corvette in the shop a week or so ago for a shift linkage issue. That really got the shop buzzin'!Last edited by Koony; 09-24-2006, 09:19 AM.sigpicComment

also the 396 was changed to a 402 in 1970 but gm desided to keep the name 396 on the cars. sbc don't really look at home in bigger cars like chevelle's and impala's, but the 383 stroker i'm building will be a beast in a in my little vega...Last edited by JasonC; 09-24-2006, 12:00 PM.
