    New here..sold E46 M3...looking for E30

After enjoying my M3 ZCP for over a year, I sold it. My friends called my crazy because want to replace my 'modern M3' with 'dated E30'. I drove my friend's '89 325IS Alpina replica and felt in love. M3 ZCP doesn't excite me as much as a clean E30. Anybody can go out and buy E46 M3 today. Can you find or keep E30 in the same fashion?

My daily commuter is a '95 Grand Caravan ES...What an exciting car to been seen in? Wifey is happy because I got her a E90.

Now....the exciting part...looking for a E30. It is going to be a fun journey. So, if I ask stupid question, please be kind to me. I want to get White so it matches my E53 tow vehicle.

    Thanks guy,

    Mack

Had to sell the M3 to buy the wife an E90? :)

You can find a clean, low-mileage 325is for about $5,000, give or take. I agree that E30's are more fun/connected/predictable than the E36/E46's I've driven.

Nice to see someone else is as nutty as me. I passed up getting an E46 ///M3 when they came out in '01 to get a tits E30 ///M3 (one in sig). People said I was out of my tree, I have never regretted it. I foresaw that everyone and their uncle would have an E46 ///M3 and didnt get a hard on about that as much as owning the car I have literally dreamed of owning since I was a boy. This is actually my dream car. FUck it. Maintenance bills do put me back near the ground though, haha.

What are your plans for the car? This will really dictate what kind of money is necessary to throw at one....You can find a rust free, original eta with crappy paint, etc. for very, very little(sub $2k) and start from the ground up or you can just buy a super mint car for close to $8k-10k. Many other options.

I couldnt pass up picking up an e30 either, i could have bought a extremely mint e36 m3. But this has been my dream car since i saw johnny cecotto race at the ring in 1990 in his Schnitzer motorsport e30 m3. N/A 2.5L s14's sound so sexy, too bad they are too expensive to maintain for me right now, after i graduate a agressive 2.5l s14 and a respray are down the road. For now its just cheap fun.

                          Thanks guys!!!

I guess it is stepping back into a "right" direction. It started off with 330i ZHP that I had for a little over 2 years, sold that one for '05 M3 Competition. After all "Competition" would do it. It took a year to find out that I was searching for a wrong car. Wife didn't want to drive stick M3 so E90 auto would be a good choice for her. So, she hands me down her '05 X5 4.4i after she got her 330i.

Since I won't have to worry about put 2 baby seats in E30, it would be a track only vehicle. I went by Ireland Engineering on Monday to look at E30 they have for sale there. The asking price is $6.5k. I guess it is pretty reasonable since it is ready to run. However, I want to get a joy of building a car up and drive it. I am torn between buying a turn-key or doing my own build up...

I guess a decent '89 E30 325IS would be a good choice to start, right?

thought you got yourself an E30 M3?

By the way, this is Ryan, Red E30 M3 that lurks Duarte. We crossed paths a couple of times.
