Another Update:
Another small update:
Went to the local wreckers and picked up a m52 fuel rail for only 15 euro's (thanks for the tip Sebe20 :))
Looks great and you can delete all the fuel hoses and the huge filter/pressure cilinder and connect the quick connect lines directly to the hardlines, perfect:
Also bolted the Aliexpress terminal to the firewall. Convenient to connect the startermotor, ECU and fusebox.
All the brackets had to go after I didged the idea of using the stock airbox. Germans really make sure that their brackets are mounted securely... :hitler:
After playing with the dremel for a couple of hours:
The remains:
Still need to touch up the paint, but that's something for another time.M54B30 E30 build:

Looks good!
Shouldn't have removed the brackets, those are for structural integrity lol
And you should put some rust converter on it if you want to wait before you paint it.
I really don't like the chinese terminal, maybe get one from a E36 or E46? (Or atleast put a cover on it)Comment

I will tape the wires together and it will look fine imo.M54B30 E30 build:

lots of small things done
Another update with lots of small steps heading in the right direction:
First of I sold my black E30 for more than I bought it for, which is nice because I kept the red leather sport interior :)
Now for the project:
I added mounting holes for the center bearing using rivnuts because the bolts were all the way over to 1 side, now it's way more secure:
My dad made some brackets for the e39 530i pusher fan (it's the one controlled with a pwm signal), hopefully it will work well.
Also bought a reservoir for the windshield fluid:
It will be placed here:
Also finished all the coolant lines and added coolant. This is te result of the first attempt
and now for the interior stuff:
Bought an android radio on the internet which fits perfectly in an E30, but it's supposed to stick out about 20mm, didn't like it so this happened:

2 became 1:
All mounted up, something you'ill hate or will love. But I think it's really nice to be able to use your navigation, spotify and gauges using an obd2 scanner:
Cut some of the carpet in the boot and mounted the rear strut bar:
That was about it.Last edited by maxpostma; 04-02-2019, 06:12 AM.M54B30 E30 build:

Thanks, researched quite alot but I couldn't find any 2din in an E30 that I really liked. So this was a shot in the dark.
I just had to move 2 buttons (hazards and the glass heater) which wasn't that bad, there's place for 1 button if you rotate it 90 degrees next to the heater control panel. The other button (hazards) I had to cut a hole for as you can see. But it's looks oem-ish so I don't really mind it.M54B30 E30 build:

I am digging that radio setup! Doesn't look that bad.
I am quite curious about this. Does the condenser fit with that??IG: deniso_nsi Leave me feedback here

If you could that would be awesome. Just curious if we could run these an keep A/C. If it was adequate for those cars it ought to be enough in our chassis.IG: deniso_nsi Leave me feedback here

The end is in sight
Quit a while since an update:
Went to the local wreckers for some small parts and I found out that there are 2 types of radiators, a big and small one.
Unluckily I had the small one, so I ordered a new z3 radiator which fits much better:
there used to be a big gap with the smaller unit:
Also made the shifter linkage work. But it felt really strange, like it wouldn't go in fifth. After some research I found that the guide pin for fifth gear was stuck. So everything had to be taken apart again
All for this stupid bitch, luckily the part only costs a couple of euros:
The exhaust is also almost finished, made it work with old exhaust parts that were laying around:
Lastly some technical stuff:
The OBD 2 port works perfectly with an Aliexpress bluetooth unit:
Really cool to see, when the coolant becomes 91 degrees Celcius the fan kicks on in slow mode via the pwm signal of the ECU.
When it becomes 104 degrees the fan speed increases:
