This could be a bummer...
This evening I was preparing for a track event later this month, when I noticed what looks like a chip of metal missing from one of the cam lobes. It is on the #1 cylinder on the exhaust cam. I ran out of daylight to take good photos & to rotate the engine to see if any other cam lobes are worn.
My question is two fold here. Is this normal on this motor, and is it something I should be concerned about? Finally is it time to order some schricks?Comment

It looks a bit like pitting, but cant tell completely. If it is then it is probably something you don't have to attend to strait away but would look into it soonish. This is something that can happen to any engine
Possible cause for pitting, not reguarly used.
If it is actaully a chunk missing then yes it is time to rebuild who knows where that piece is and what damage is could cause. What is more concerning is how it chipped in the first place.sigpicComment

-schrick 284's ordered
-replacement struts have been sourced
-all exhaust parts are here
-all random replacement parts ordered
It's going to be close, but there is a small chance it will run on the 22nd!Comment

Mr. UPS man knows me by name now...
I'm guessing the E is for intake "einlass" and the A is for exhaust "auslass"Comment
