Viola. Super euro beater. I can dig it.
TOTALLY! VW guys have this knack for taking a car that looks like complete SHIT, slamming it on hot rims, and turning into something I'd glady waste thousands of potential children all of the hood of. My friend Sean has a MkIII Jetta slammed to the ground on 15x8 Schmidt ModernLines, and the trunk is all primered and has a bunch of stickers on it, the paint on the roof looks like hell, and it's still sexy as hell.

                Excellent.

For those still not in the know:

Also, I will own a squareback/notchback/fastback in my future, I love these cars. Either a squareback thats been "surf"-ized, or HoodRide.
                Reminiscing...

Definitely cool. I’ve always like notchbacks personally.

This related pic has been on my HD for a while:

The rims are EMPI's (Engineered Motor Parts Inc.)

I had a 64 Square and a 63 Notch. Sold the Notch for the down payment for me and the missus first house. Pre-67 VW's are freakin fun to own - they are light and extremely fast with a 1835cc dual weber motor (great power-to-weight ratio) and handle like they are on rails when dumped. I wouldn't narrow the beam to the lowered stance of square in the pic though.

1835 and 1776cc engines are typically prime candidates for turbos...

Cheaper then going stroker and still fairly reliable.

I've got an 1835 case in storage with a set of weber 44IDFs... I paid a few hundred bucks for those webers five years ago, they have increased in price since then. Unfortunately I never got around to getting heads for it or finishing my resto. for that fact.

enjoy, hopefully there isn't too much rust on that sq. back.

I like it. How's the interior? If the rust isn't too bad, I say strip the trim off yourself and have a good shop paint it for you. If it were mine I'd look into adding a huge sliding ragtop sunroof. Would be a fun beach cruiser.
