Just stop calling them unsafe cause they arent. I can drive perfectly fine at night with my sealed beams. Sure I cant drive as fast or as aggressive as I do during the day, but that doesnt mean the lights are unsafe. If I were to do so, it would mean my driving given the conditions was unsafe, not the headlights. Get it.

they aren't to bad, all of my cars that i had was sealed beam till i was 23. Thats when i finally got a car that had composite headlights in it. I allways liked driving my american muscle cars 1972 and back. I got 5 cars now and they all have sealed beam lights in them except my e30, witch i got hids in and i love them.

You don't drive much at night, do you? Because I honestly had the same opinion you did, then I started doing most of my driving at night, and now I see the light (pardon the pun).

              ^^+1

The difference between sealed beams (possibly old ones that need replacing) and ellips is literally, night and day. When I got my 2nd E30, my first mod to the car was putting in a set of e-codes. Then I put in the HID's. Once you drive with the HID's and get used to them, throw a set of standard H1's in and see how well you can see......It sucks.

first thing I did on my car was the hellas / HIDs. best mod so far, other than the suspension.

yea headlights are just as important as brakes but i think the point ptowntsi was trying to make was that the mod seems to be an aesthetic one where as the rest of the car is seemingly untouched.... eurogrilles and smoked lenses are aesthetic.... the eurogrilless maybe can be considered functional but the difference is minimal and it still an eta so the gains are most likey negligible
