    ..yup i'm over the other side at singapore.... sharp eyes ya got...Luke..:)

    ..well.. i didnt want to leave the engine & brake stuff lying around for too long cos this being year end.. the shops wud probably be either closed or too full with work..... and since the manual stuff is still long in the waitin till it gets together, i decided to just leave it for the mo as an auto...once the manual tranny is ready, i'd have to rob another bank to get my other parts as well...(cams blabla..)...& i was thinkin of doin a re-spray on the whole car...(still wonderin what colour tho.... black or maybe white) ; that's y i left the engine bay more or less as it is...

    ..in short my ass was so itchy to get the engine in first.... the rest probably a little later down the road..

    hi Jean; great stuff these rear discs... definitely a must-have for all reasons (safety, feel, rear-shiny-blings...)

    .. i actually wanted to post more pics but the first camera which took most of the pics was washed out on the damn rain... so %!@%*!:curse:

    well; yu'd basically need the following(for each side):

    1) Wheel-Brearing x1- since yu'd be removing the drum set up; wud be good to do this 1-time change; in case the current ones may be worn...yu'd have to machine-push the old ones out & re-fit;
    2) arm bushes x2 per arm;

    3)handbrake cablex 2.

    4) brake hoses;

    The procedure is rather simple. Once yuv removed the drive shaft, move on to remove the 2 main screws at the front of the arm. This is where the 2 bushes will be re-placed.

    Then remove the shock absober from the arm, remove the handbrake cable and replace it with the new ones.

    After assembling the disc brake onto the arm...Juss slap em back together and.. INstant power braking..

    ... i'll try to source for pics... another friend in malaysia also changed his drums after me.. he may have pics..

    hope this helps!..

    cheers!

      Thanks man, I already have trailing arms with the hubs and calipers..I wanted to know if you had to do anything special with the brake lines ?

      Did the brake lines for the drums work for the discs w/o any custom work at all ?

          Ok, did you have to install new hard lines or just the short ends on the trailing arms to the calipers ?

              Was your E30 originally Disc + Drum in the rear and you converted it to just Disc? Or was it just Drum originally?

                all euro models that have the ETA motor, 325i,any touring, or a 318iS, and some early ABS cars-- all had disk brake front, and disk rear. the smaller 4 cyl cars had non vented front rotors with drums back, and the rest ex. 320i had vented front, and drum rear.
