Pic request: 318iS or M3 w/ and w/o spring pads

You can read ;). I'm contemplating removing my pads, to see what kind of height difference I get. Thanks!

    P.S. : 15" wheels preferred, and a 318iS w/M3 suspension would be killer!

it's not going to be a big difference, I doubt you'd be able to tell in pics. maybe 1/4-3/8" in the front, 1/2-5/8" in the back. that said, running without rear spring pads is a bad idea, it's better to get the thin ones from the dealer.

Here is a link to Mark Gold's car (318iC) before and after with M3 springs, spring pads, and 14" baskets.

      HTH.

That jerk 318daily didn't run spring pads.

here's a pic of his crappy car.

the front always looked higher in pictures.

I think //M42technic has the exact setup you're looking for.

              What other suspension mods?

I was running IE Stage 3 race springs w/ bilstein sports. Front and rear spring pads removed.

I was running M3 springs with 10mm front hats on my old car... I'm contemplating running the hats/pads on the new one, but I'll probably end up running stock spring hats. I think I'll keep the rear pads in at first too and experiment with them later to see what kinda difference I get.

Edit: Neil, any downsides to running no rear pads as far as you could tell?

without rear spring pads, you'll notice nothing but an annoying, loud CLICK every time you go over a bump. 8)

I thought your car looked waaaay too low to be running M3 springs. Nice looking 318is! BTW what kind of exhaust are you running? I saw this pic of yours and I really like the stainless system on the left.

None that I ever noticed. You're probably better off just leaving them in since it didn't make much difference by removing them.

Never any clicking sounds by going over bumps, although i'd roll big bumps rather slow.

Exhaust was B&B triflo. The one on the right is the stock exhaust with the Dynamax super turbo muffler.

Thanks for the words guys, I already have secret plans for my next E30.
