It was actually a coincedence. I didn't notice it until I got the pictures off the camera. Funny the way it worked out.Originally posted by PedroI assume you meant to take the pics on 3 23
See I actually really like not having power steering. I'll admit.. parking is a challenge. However, steering it though the twisties feels ever so good!Originally posted by MikesJoI like your front end. Used to have an e21 before the e30 . I hate the steering though, all manual, argh, hard on parallel parking! Had an 81 w/ 230k miles on it then sold it .

Have you dirven a m10 powered e21? I have a e21 that I am thinking of dropping in a m42 into cause I was really shy about putting much more weight up front. Does the front feel a bit on the heavy side?

No, I have not driven an M10 powered E21. My daily driver is an M10 powered E30 though.Originally posted by george gravesHave you dirven a m10 powered e21? I really haven't noticed the front "feeling heavy".. honestly, I'm not sure that I would know what that feels like. :?

chimming in a little late :) nice 323i!!! yeah that front spoiler definately looks like a BBS (not OEM, but a lot of e21's w/ aftermarket front spoilers are rocking the BBS).
also, it sorta looks like the euro bumpers on ur 323i may have the 'federalized' iron bars behind them......the front iron bar i've seen has provisons for fog lights to be mounted along w/ euro bumpers. u could take them out & just make some custom brackets to mount the bumpers....it'll shave at least 50lbs off the car.
if u need any help w/ the 323i checkout Tricord's forum....it's has the most 323i owners that i've seen on one forum and there's a couple of nuts on there that know pretty much everything there is to know about an e21.
george graves, my friend nic (www.bimmerboys.com) did the m42 swap to his e21 and i love it (especially w/ that LEDA suspension he put on). the car moves too...w/ a low 3.91:1 final drive (when it's supposed to be coupled w/ the 4.10:1), dinan chip, & hot air intake, it feels significantly faster than my mom's stock 89 325i & it pulled on an e36 328i going uphill. i've rode shotgun for several runs at an autox & the car is not front heavy at all....the way he had the suspension setup made the car ride very neutral w/ a just a hint of oversteerComment

Hey thanks!
You're right.. the bumpers do have the federalized iron bars behind them.
Atleast when they imported it, they did that rather than put US bumpers on it.
I hadn't looked into removing the supports before.. I guess I will think about that.
However, weight is not a big issue.. the car is very light as it is.
I haven't quite figured out how it is that those supports were added (bumpers and doors)
yet.. I still have rear fog lights.. no catalytic converter and a few other weird things.
