Correct. E30 M3 VIN numbers are WBSA" and standard non-M E30 VIN's read "WBAA".

I'm wondering however, is it terribly wise to post your VIN number on a public internet forum? That's your car's social security number.

actually the fourth letter in the vin is not always A. For instance, mine is WBAB
