yup i asked him about the stock wiring harness. I was planning to do the same thing. get the car to run on the stock electronics dme ews all that jumbo...i was going to buy a s54 from ebay and the seller sent me pics of where the harness had damage. came to find out it was for the head lights.

I agree about s54 & US spec s50/s52 but don't forget about the Euro S50B32
I'd love to see the SMG hooked up to work properly in an e30, that was my idea for my new project but I went in a different way (details coming Spring 07)
