Wow, very nice work, the finished product is awesome! I would have kept the lips to the wheels silver, but no biggie. Who's the ladyfriend?
And what did you do to your E30? I swear I saw you once around Bethesda...
The ladyfriend is my girlfriend Katie...and actually.. the car is currently hers for the time being.
We would have kept the lips silver but the wheels are TRX's and once the tires are gone Ill pretty much throw them away....oh yeah, and Katie painted the wheels as her first car project so the simpler the better! I have a set of recently refinished Style 5's ready for summer!
Paint on the wheels is just Krylon exterior gloss black. Its all in the prep work...

I no longer have an E30 street car. It is now fully prepared SpecE30 race car...well almost fully, a few knick knacks here and there to go. Ill put some pics up of that some time in the future as well.
It comes back from the cage builder in about a week and then straight to the graphics guy for the Beer Tech vinyl yo!
Nice one, I just realized that U.S. e28's have very different front lights than european ones...
Wouldn't it been easier to take tail lights off rather than masking them?
Hmmmm, you would think. BUT, the PO decided it would be a good idea to use some caulk to keep them in...you cant see it from outside the car and they dont leak. I had enough on my plate at the time, Ill just fix that later.
When I bought my 1980 Supra WAAAAAAAAYYYY back, the prior owner had replaced the stock wheels with some Western brand TRX sized wheels.
They were nice looking, to be sure, sort of an Alpina style multi-spoke. But, those 220/55VR390 tires were damned expensive!!!!! Your ony choices were Michelin TRX radials or Sears re-caps. I seem to recall the Michelins being close to 200 each. And this is in 1987-1988 timeframe. I'm sure they are damned near impossible to find now.
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Exactly! Original equipment on this car. They were on when I bought the car, wore out those tires, bought another set recently with almost new tires (the ones in the pics) for $50 from a shop near me wanting to get rid of them! So, once these tires are gone...so are the wheels. Anybody want them? ;)
Looks like you had some ovespray on the bottom part of the rear 1/4s. I say that cuz Ive done shadowline twice and the distance from window molding to paint there wasnt enough. Its cool. CLay bar should take care of it. Other than that nice freshening up!!! I couldnt see the last few pics.
