Sorry to see this happen to you and your sister. I hope that she will be ok and that you end up getting a nicer e30 in the near future. Good luck with everything and hopefully everything will turn out for the better.

        oh my Topless!

First off all, I am glad to hear that your sister made it out of the accident, with plenty support and good medical care I hope she can fully overcome her leg pains/injuries.

A picture diffinitely speak volumes (the last one with you and ur dad??). Feel your disappointment with the whole situation.

Bummer about the car. Glad everyone is okay.

Wouldn't one expect her head to hit the headrest in a rear end accident?

sorry to see such a clean example go... but the main thing is that your sister is OK. As mentioned before, cars can be replaced.

Sorry to hear that, but at least everyone is OK. Excuse me, but I have to ask... is that last shot candid, or did you guys pose?

The car will more than likely not be parted out. My family and I don't have the time or facilities to do that. The rear end collision should cause her to move backwards, but then again, seat-belts lock up too. I'm just glad she is okay. The last shot was not completely candid, as you can tell by my father's expression. Thanks for all the kind words.

I'm on the look out for another clean example... this time in coupe form.

Ouch! Glad to hear your sister is ok, and I'd get the insurance to get me some dough back on the loss.

That sucks. Sorry to see a nice one gone. Glad your sis is basically ok. Looks like a hell of a hit. Are either of the doors jammed?

Play hardball with the ins. company. Get ready to be really pro-active. Find and print out all the good pics you have of it and compile your receipts for maintence/improvements.

Hope you find an even nicer e30 soon.

mang oh mang, glad you sister is doing well.

hope she fully recovers, until then, do not sign any sort of waivers nor take any wack-a-mole checks from the insurance company., lawyer-up asap !

Long term medical bills can be a pain in the ... knee.

come back to e30 world soon. very soon.
                          b. regards,
                          Frank

I open it up the thread and see the pictures.........first reaction to them is to say shit, and just stare in awe. That really does suck. I know how I felt when I lost my first E30 to the tree. I know you must feel even worse. It is good that your sister wasn't seriously hurt (thank god for crumple zones - to an extent).
                            Good luck on the search.

Does that actually work? I thought that they just give me blue book value for an '87 325ic in good condition. I do have all the service history and paperwork for the car including original sticker (not that it matters, or does it?).

Depends on the company. A lot of them nowadays use a "pricing service". What that is is a place that will scour internet ads and local newspapers for the crappiest cheapest of your car and try and use that as market value. So, if they can find some old tattered cabbys in and around the Carolinas, they will contact the sellers, as if they are a buyer, make lowball offers and see if they might agree, and then provide a report with BS entries like ths:
                                - "Ad, Cars.com, 1987 325ic, Charlotte, NC, listed for $1500, called seller, said he'd take $1300 for it"

THen they average them up to some shit price.

Some companies still use book values.

If it were me, I'd scour the Roundel and CCA chapter ads to see if you can find some high end garage queens to use to counter their asserted values.
