Very humble reply - I understand that I caused a ton of commotion on S14.net, and thus I don't visit any more. There were angry people who had never even seen the car, valued what was done, or anything, but just viewed it as the 12k mile E30 M3. The fact that since then many lower mileage, better condition cars have come for sale.

I knew nothing about 968's or Porsches in general when I bought it. I wanted a 944 Turbo, but about 2 weeks before I pulled the trigger on one my friend blew his engine from oil starvation (fairly typical) which made me look to the more reliable younger brother. If you know anything about E36 M3's, the 968 is even easier. One thing Porsche does that BMW should is they put all the workshop manuals and catalogs online available for everyone - on top of that they are all built in house by Porsche (all the parts I mean), so everything is rebuildable from transmissions to water pumps. Completely different from BMW.

I spend a good deal of time on S14.net. You learn to filter out the childish passion filled anger that some people have over the "destruction" of M3's. I'm not a fan of taking out the S14, thats just me. I won't look down on people for doing it. The bubble car... whatever. Its long done, and no need to rehash that.

968's are better looking than 944's. Not having driven many P car variations, they are a bit foreign. I've always had a soft spot for 993 and earlier 911 bodied cars though. The few 944's I've driven left me totally uninspired (both turbo and non-turbo). I was thrown into the drivers seat of a 930Turbo on a skid pad, and the snap oversteer was one hell of a beast to control!

    Anyhoo, enough rambling from me.
    Cheers,
    Chris

I was about 30 seconds away from buying the Unimog but just financially couldn't swing a $10,000 useless tool. He may still have it for sale, but after selling me the 968 he won't return my phone calls. Apparently there were a few things he left for me to do! The picture I posted was old, all the cars there are sold. It was an RS America, 1003 miles since new. Polar Silver over black and red factory cloth, M030, 220LSD, etc... Very rare car. Current collection is very small, turbo-look cabriolet, E30 M3 race car, Caterham Fire Blade and Seven, and I guess a few more that I haven't seen lately. I don't think you've ever hung out over there, might be worth your time sometime ;) .

i know the feeling trying to finish up the red car and support the others is rough, but on a positive note it may run this weekend and for sure by next pick the head up today. I am awaiting the other 2 of my euro baskets. I will be letting set go, if you are interested hit me up, they would do a world better over bottle caps. I would love to go hang out and look at some hot cars. I would be plastered in that RS you would have to drag me out of it.

I am looking for a Unimog 416 Doka if anyone stumbles across one. I am also talking to a guy that imports and restores decommisioned ones. that is more expensive but he completely rebuilds them and to your spec, thats a while off though.

Like you need another vehicle. :) This one runs though, right?
