I got that shit CHEAP through work. My boss bought it from some guy who wrecked it, it sat for a few years and I talked him into selling it to me finally. It's a 98 motor, can't wait to get it installed and ready to roll.

If it sat for a couple of years, you better pray someone had the smarts to squirt some oil in the cylinders and turn it over every once in awhile.

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.
You don’t want this. You want the trickiest, most dangerous, oldest model you can find. Only then can you prove to the world that you’re a man.

Word, bad things happen, thats pretty much the reason a rebuilt s50 is going into my car vs. a non rebuilt s50.

Hone the cylinders with a toilet brush and a drill, it's all gravy.

Negative, you dont think both rede30 and I tried that first? If the rust was bad enough to pit the cylinder walls, then you have to bore and get oversized pistons. And trust me, it doesnt take much rust AT ALL to get some decent pitting going. Even if it doesnt pit and you can get rid of the rust with a simple brush hone, are you going to stick pistons with old rings back in? Have you priced new rings lately? The next motor I buy for a swap will have been running within days of being taken out of the car, no doubt about it.
