I'm sure the roller job isn't perfect but it looks pretty good from here.
After a first weekend test drive of my car.

I can't tell if this is a skeptical comment or a sarcastic one, but if you think about it a roller paint job is going to be as perfect as a spray job as long as you wetsand and polish properly. All the prep work that goes into it before paint is the same, and once the paint dries the same work goes into wetsanding and polishing, so really there isn't much of a chance to screw up unless you don't take your time! From what I have read on the subject, if you wetsand adequately between coats of paint, you end up with less orange peel on the final coat before wetsanding and polishing than most spray jobs. The only big limitation of this method is paint choice... the easy way is to use Rustoleum and they don't offer a huge selection of attractive colors.'88 528e /// '88 M5 /// '89 951 /// '98 E430 /// '02 M5 -

whether or not they are polished or chrome they have the same effect for me. so for you to point out something that is effectively no more than being anal is rather pointless.
their appearance is still not to my liking, and when it really comes down to it, that's all that matters.

I guess. I always supposed the biggest reason to dislike chrome wheels was the weight.. not the looks.Comment

HAHHAHAHA, that's hi-fuckin larious
Nando is right. The wheels are custom forged j-line wheels to a polished finish. They look chrome, but are certainly not.
Why get jline wheels and then roll the paint? I already discussed my very valid reasons on another post in "paint and body", so look my threads started there if you wish.
I will get much better pictures and maybe some videos within the next couple weeks. It is 10 degrees outside today, so getting videos this week will be next to impossible.
for those that were wondering, here is a "before" shot of my car during September/october of 2005.

I'm gonna try my best not to copy you Frank, but the white is awesome and pretty much the only color I'd want to paint my 335i... I also need plastic bumpers... Haha
I guess as long as I don't have cool stripes we won't have matching cars

haha, The stripes aren't for everybody, but white is pretty easy to paint. It's not as reflective as the navy (which was a VERY close second for me). The navy is very reflective and I think would go on very nicely. White shows the least amount of imperfections, so that's what i went with.
Joe, you are the only thing that matters. Forget everything else. u da man.Recent Rebranding!!
