        bio-diesel FTW

I am considering selling my jetta for a diesel so I can do bio-diesel, considering how I can easily get unlimited grease for free it works out pretty good :)

My 96 is great (except for milage) but you can't have everything.

I saw that PBS documentary about Seattle and the bio-d co-ops... pretty sweet, especially since they make it for about $0.65 per gallon.

I can only imagine that Oregon (especially SE Portland) has quite a few co-ops. I see a shitload of bio-diesels around here.

That was a Frontline show it was on in January. I like PBS, the nerdy part of me inside.

With the spike in fuel cost that has jumped 40 cents in three weeks maybe the US will start leaning towards more diesel applications.

VW has the TDi's back. BMW really needs to be proactive instead of reactive here on the US market.

If I know old toyotas, I'd venture to guess every fenderwell, shock mount, footwells, and floor area in general :P

As for biodiesel, I wouldn't run more than 50% if I owned a diesel (which will most likely be a big truck, and whenever pulling heavy I'd back off to 10-20% biodiesel). Still very good technology though (should use hemp oil though ;) )

It is becoming so... at this point I think there are approx 5 places in the city where you can get bio. Bio is definitely in the plans though.

its actually an FJ62 converted to a 3B and H55f
Kind of a rough job on the conversion, but it runs great!

We have a place here in Bend to get it. My friend Seth is a member of the co-op, he has a biodiesel MkII.
