    Something like:
    $900 Labour
    $400 Paint
    $200 Smoothing
    $100 Clear Coat
$100 New mouldings and window trim
    $700 Door

They didn't include the mirror, which is now loose as well. That should be around another $500 new.

I'll probably buy used parts anyways, it'll work just as good.

    $700 for a f*cking door?
    $900 labor?
what kind of bodyshop did you go to?
and before anybody insurance or otherwise coughs up $2,400 in repairs for that car you'll get told it's totaled.
get another estimate for A LOT less $$ or you'll be regretting it when your car has a salvaged title.

Watch out!!! They'll total the car most likely. Take it to a good BMW only enthusiast-run body shop, or the closes thing you can get. Get a used door, sand it yourself, have them spray it, and throw it on yourself.

Get a used door from a forum member/junkyard for a hundred bucks and bring it in to avoid upcharge on the parts and have them Jam, align and repaint and blend the door in onto the quarter and fender.

that 700 is def. for a new door. Mine was supposed to be around 550 or something, but my body shop was only allowed to buy brand new parts from bmw themselves because of insurance. Obviously they didnt have any lying around, the used door cost about 250 from a dismantler.

if the insurance company doesnt total it for $2400 and they cut you a check, go to a junkyard and get a new door, throw some paint on it, pocket the rest.

                  heyoo!

                    Sucks about the wreck dude.

Take teh $2400 quote. Get insurance money. Buy a used door. Have it painted to match. Take the other $2000 and buy suspension and euro bumpers.
