I saw this thread but did not post. Is this a track car? Gawddamn.
Haha, not a track car, but probably will end up being tracked. Just a $500 318is with a blown motor that my dad just decided to start throwing money at, LOL.
I think he misses his 1995 Porsche 993 Carrera which was Black on Black and had H&R Springs, Twin Turbo Shocks, 18" Turbo Twist Wheels, TechArt Exhaust Tips, Xenon HID Conversion, Swiss Cheese Airbox, Turbo "S" Shift Knob and E-Brake Handle, and a 996 Steering Wheel. Fuck, that car was sweet.

UUC FTMFW. Also, Luisi Squalo 350mm Steering Wheel coming soon.
Got teh seats in. Custom made almunium ones on the driver's side and ones from HMS Motorsports on the passenger's side. The HMS ones needed a little tweaking, but worked well. They use the stock sliders and brackets from 2-dr. E30's.
and the best part.......
HAHAHA. That's my old man. He's a hardcore bicycle guy, but it doesn't take away that it makes him look like a homo.

Will do. Engine should be here by the beginning of June. And every week, the engine bay painting gets pushed back (or ahead) by another week. I will be sure to snap some pictures of the engine and tranny when they come in.
Also, alot of plans have materialized for the exterior. Here's what I have in mind:
US Spec. Smileys w/ HID 6K Kit
'iS" Front Spoiler in Diamonschwartz
Ryan G "iS" Front Splitter
Euro Grills
Euro Trim
Euro Filler Plate
Either All Red Taillights or MHW Smoked Taillights
Interior:
Luigi Squalo 350mm Steering Wheel w/ BMW Horn Button
UUC RK6AL Shift Knob and E-Brake
BMW Business CD Player
Recaro Cloth Seats
Gauge Pods that replace Center Console, Ashtray and OBC (Total of 6)
Thats about it.
Also, I am looking to buy an E30 M3 Gauge Cluster for this beast, preferably with over 177k Miles. PM or post here.
Thanks,
Ben

What does a Luigi Squalo 350mm Steering Wheel w/ BMW Horn Button look like? Never heard of such a wheel...also, what made your dad choose an E30 for a platform, instead of maybe an E30 M3 or others?

Really nice looking wheel IMO, with a touch of Old Skoolism that should be a nice combo with the Recaro's.
The second part is kind of hard to answer, but here goes. He just has a hard-on for these old things. Styling, Lightweight, Handling and PRICE is really what does it for him. I mean he's not a cheap bastard at all, but sometimes he likes the less expensive aftermarket stuff and I tell him, no no, you have to pay to play! However, he went about this on his own schedule and informed me what he was doing.
Originally, he picked up the car for $500, fairly clean, blown motor, nice sport interior, etc. He had talked to The Euro Depot on and off about doing one of their famed M50 conversions, except with an S54 and 6-speed. However, price wasn't really an issue, but the fact that it wasn't unique to his liking kind of pushed him against it. However, after talking to a VW guy that he and I have known for years, he convinced him to build a Turbo M42, having Jon Volk (who is about 10min. away from where I work) do all the fabrication stuff, and the garage that our friend works at do all the tuning.
And you know how some people just ease their way into projects like this, you know test the water with their toes? Well, my old man just fucking dove right in like a madman. I'm not the type to devulge costs, but let's just say that for the amount that has been or will be spent, you could buy yourself a mint, under 30k mile E30 M3 easily.
Damn, I need to stop talking.
