    The mtech 2 is as low or lower then an iS front lip.

          firstly, i wanna thank bro G.(Vedubin01) for the kind words and confidence in me & my little handiwork. I'm actually very honoured that he's keen to have something simple, and custom made up on his magnificent car...

          i've always admired his beautiful.30; the absolute TLC and attention to detail he's placed on his car leave many car enthusiasts in awe..

          well; first i must comment that for the critics coming from a strict practical point of view; yes, this splitter would be lacking.... in order for it to really provide a downforce effect; the mtechII valance should have an additional lower lip made; under which a splitter as such once attached; would then provide more of an effect, not unlike the ryan-G for the IS lip; and of course; a splitter that would protrude out more would naturally 'catch' more downforce..

          however, please remember that this lip was intended mainly to enhance the aesthetics of the car. The mtechII valance definitely needs a splitter to look complete. i basically set off wanting to make something like this:

          for an effect like this:

          but the cost to make this in carbon/fibre on a 1-off basis would be very expensive. Furthermore, this splitter sample is made to fit the extended front valence of the M3.If u search for REAL c/f splitters, u will know what i mean wen in comes to price.

          i could have simply made a fibreglass piece and fitted it on, but i insisted on using real carbon/fibre fabric for the simple reason it holds the item firmly in place; and any impact to the article hence would not cause it to shatter (of course unless u decide to ram yr front against the wall); then again, though the mtechII valance isnt as low as the is would be; extending the splitter too low would make it less practical to drive...

          in addition, repairs to the item would also be relatively easy with the c/f base; it would jus be a matter of relaying the f/glass & end-resin to shape.

          i've also done one for my track eg and to date;

          after various runs on the track, it has definitely withstood crap impacting on it at high speeds.. much better than pure pvc or fibre/glass ones.

          in any case; i did this as a 1-off thing, and if i were to go into some sort of commercial production;i could make one like this:

          ..but making the base mould to start off with, the the amount of carbon/fibre material needed would definitely make it more costly.

          ALSO; when manufacturing carbon/fibre articles; u do not simply buy a 'length of c/f and cut to shape".. this is not cubic printing or some prc produced c/f look-alike sticker.. this is real c/f fabric please. I'm from asia and i've seen more than enough crap 'c/f' items to know the importance of going for the real-thing.. & not just 'the look'.

          In short; i am not hoodwinkin Gordon in any way. It may not be the perfect A1 quality item ever produced; but it is one made with a purpose. I am only makin like S$30 from this, to cover the bit of labour cost from the guy who helps me layer the c/f onto the fibre glass base.

          Its mainly the honour of havin yr enthusiasm appreciated that made me wanna make one for him, and hope that it justifies being on his great car..

          IN SHORT.. thank u for all comments; especially for the critics who can contribute constructively; otherwise .. jus take it easy & enjoy the fun us e30 enthusiasts go through, in making our rides more enjoyable!..

          (& u thot yo gramma was long winded)..
          :pimp:
