    ===================================
    well the 318 dual quad would be a wicked set-up but the 318 polyspheric motor was actually heavier than the common 318 "la" motor which can actually produce an easy 300+ horsepower for very little cost AND you can find them virtually everywhere. OK heres another "what if " 5.7 ltr HEMI ...........

      That poly motor is a heavy peice of iron. I had one in a 64 Fury but it was only a 2bbl motor. The 318 la motors ran well for a small motor. I sold a 88 dakota last summer which i put a 318 magnum in from a 93 dakota. I took the fuel injection off and ran a 4bbl, small cam and shorty headers. It was a mean little truck.

        Looking at around 335hp at the fly, they rev very very well. 7000rpm limit with aftermarket comp.This later model 1uzfe had higher lift cams than the early versions so im happy. Yes here in NZ there are a few companys that do aftermarket cams all all sorts of mods for these engines so its really easy to obtain good info on them. Cheers

          A 5.0? Its probably because I'm a bowtie boy but that has got to be the worst motor swap possible for an e30.
          A good ol 3 half SB would do nice though ;)
          4.0lt, I like these engines because the are soooo light and cheap over here. also they are very very strong from factory and use alot less gas than an m20.

            LS1 engines here are much more expensive than the 1uzfe, and no where near as cheap and easy to mod here. There is so much info on the the 1uzfe here and so easy to get. Im sure 335hp and lighter than an m20 will be fine lol.

                      Only in the 2000's did holdens here get the LSx motors, and then we gotta wait till they get crashed and wrecked for them to come up. Remember we're a country of 4 million people, when an LSx motor comes up for sale, its usually around 10KNZD for it.
