    some progress on my car

body work is pretty much finished, just a few small details left. it's getting painted tomorrow, so it should be all back together next week. I can't wait to drive it again!

remember that nice CF hood? :D

I had them shave the ix logo off--the paint was trashed underneath, so now was a good time. it's also good since the trunk had some nasty scratches on it anyway. lastly, I had them fix the only door ding on the car, some scrapes on the rear bumper, and a couple of rock chips on the A pillars.

it won't be perfect, but it'll be close enough until I can take the time to repaint the whole car. for now I just want to use it for it's main purpose, driving. :)

the funny thing is the hood and fender that were destroyed in the accident were fucked up anyway.. mostly the hood. it got kicked in one corner, I closed it on a ratchet once, the wind blew it shut on my throttle body that was lying on the intake, and finally the wind blew a recylcing bin across the street which nailed it right by the roundell. the fender just had some small dents.

It's going to look great man!

If you know off hand, how much was the new radiator support? Also, was it directly from BMW?

~$400. yeah, it's an original BMW part, got it through BMA. cost another $450 to put it in and line up all the panels. I still have about $2k for the rest of the body work, hopefully I'll have some leftover when it's done!

Why in the world did you leave the mouldings and door handles on?

more work than it's worth. I'll worry about that shit when I get the whole car repainted. it was already repainted once with the moldings on anyway..
