    My V8 swap..(putting flame suit on)56k maybe?

I'm going ahead and going to start a thread on my V8 swap. I will update it as i progress through the project. Right now i just have the motor sitting on the floor. My sisters car just got done today so i'll have my space back so i can hang my motor on the stand. The motor i'm going to put in my e30 is a 305TPI with a 700R4 for a trans. I got the drivetrain out of a 86 Camaro Z28 IROC Z. I'm going to put a small cam in it and clean up the ports in the heads. And freshen the motor up with new rings, bearings, and gaskets. I'll propobly put a set of block hugger shorty headers on it unless i see that i can fit a set of long tube headers on it. So here is my car and motor as it sit's today. I know i'll get alot of flack for putting a all cast iron sbc in it and flack cause it's a 305 and not a 350.

And the old dirty 305 TPI

you forgot to mention flak for swapping in an autobox.

    I think it's cool swap, but find a f'ing 5-speed!

*edit* does the 305 even have 200hp? IIRC it's less :(

Anemic heads on those motors and really crappy TPI made them worthless slugs. :(

It all depends on the cam that the factory stuck in it.190hp-230hp. This motor is the 190hp:( . But i'm going to change the cam anyway.

What bottles the 305's up is the small valves cause of the small bore. I've been reading up on the 305's and people's been putting power pack heads of of 283's on then or just putting larger valves in them.

5.0 Ford? cause this is a 5.0 GM. The 5.0 fords have more bark then bite.

305's suck balls, I don't care what anyone has told you.
Put a real motor and tranny in that car or leave it alone.

PS: I am no Ford fan but the ford 5.0 is WORLDS better than your 305.

                              Have fun.
