    Bro R3ved teh frankenstein 318i

Hey guys. It's funny, just yesterday I installed my early style bumper on my brothers 91 318i because his old one was cracked. WELL, this happened today:

He was driving on a through street at about 35mph, and a lady pulled out in front of him and he couldnt avoid hitting her. Both of them are ok it seems. My bro's airbag went off, and it smelled like ass... anyway, I'm just glad hes ok.

NO he's not parting it out........yet. I don't know what's going to happen. Do you guys think its totaled?

    whore-age:

That's 3 in this month alone. I called that one, R3V season is definitely upon us.

It's like the bastard child of El Nino, directed solely at E30's.

Yeah this sucks big time. Even though the car didn't look too good, it was still a fun car to drive.

Any advice on how my brother should go about this? The other party SHOULD be responsible but nothing is certain yet. How does it work when a car is totaled? Can you buy it back from them? Are they gona try to lowball him?

In oregon, if you rear-end someone, it is your fault period.

wasn't really a rear end per say.. more like a "corner" end. Her car was at an angle when they hit because she was just making a right turn into the intersection from a stop sign(she is supposed to yield..stopped at a stop sign. brother had right of way)

he was passing by on the main street and he hit her quarter panel because she wasnt paying attention and pulled out in front of him, and he didnt have a chance to react.

Sounds like her fault to me.

But any advice would be appreciated. Is he going to have to research what these cars are selling for in this area and show it to the insurance company?

Just hope that the insurance co. isn't dick's about it. They will propobly low ball him on the price at first. A lady pulled out in front of my dad 3 months ago and her ins. co. dicked around and finally gave my dad a fair price for his car. And now they are dicking with getting his check to him.

                        That's good to know.

Can you buy your car back from them after it's totaled? I would miss the car a lot. It's been in the family since 91' =/.
