    Roebling road DE

Just got back in from doing a DE with the Coastal Empire Porsche club at Roebling road. It was a pure blast and I just love the layout of the track. On to the pics
Sitting in front of our pit

Tent city (really helped with the rain sunday morning)

All three cars from our group lined up

    Another angle

Few shots from the parade lap

My buddy Steve tearing it up in his e30 that I helped build

That shot is during the parade lap(no helmets required). All three of our cars were in different groups, so no one else was able to get pictures of me out on the track during hot laps.

I'll be there in two weeks!! Good to see the track pics, but I'm hoping my weekend won't be as wet.

have fun, we woke up sunday morning with the ground wet, then had some rain come threw in the morning. We all skipped our first morning sessions, but the rain cleared and the track started drying around 10-11 in the morning. My 3 remaining sessions were all on a dry track.

I was real tempted to go out, but it was my first weekend running r-comps so I had no idea how they would do in the rain.

                          Full tread or shaved?

I've had three race weekends this year and its rained at all three weekends. I'm way to poor to have a dedicated rain set so I've done every race on shaved Ra-1's. Mad Doriftoz. They work great when it is wet or damp. The only thing that gets hairy is standing water on the straightaways. I usually have my eyes closed anyway. . . .

From what I hear, unless there's a lot of standing water, R-Comps are usually faster than street tires on a wet course.

Your experience sounds like one of our trips to CMP. It poured from about midnight until 7am, and the track was soaked for session 1. I tried 1/2 tread ES100 street tires with no luck, and ended up leaving the car in 4th gear the whole session so I could focus on the line more. A lot of folks say ES100's are terrible in the wet though. Woulda/shoulda run the Hoosiers but I didn't know what to expect at the time.

edit: JP--I didn't know it rained all 3 weekends, that's wild! Track looked dry from Davidson's CMP video??

I know a wet track session is a great way to learn limits at a lower speed and I'd like one now and then, just not the entire weekend wet. Since Roebling is so close to the coast, we'll see.
