New here. Some "before" pics on a rainy day

So Ive been spending some time in the classifieds here and thought id post some pics of the new project...'87 325is. Ive got about $1200 tied up in the car (bought it non running for $500) so far and have a huge list to tackle this coming weekend... a lil rust around the taillights, but all other areas are good..... paint came out decent after a buff, but still needs a respray to freshen it up. Interior is horrible. Suspension will be temporarily sorted this weekend with eibachs while i hunt down some strut tubes to send to BHR for GC mods. 305K on the body with no accident history or signs of unreported accidents.... fairly clean DD.

    Just thought id share

Nice! Looks kinda like my car!

Where in VA are ya? I grew up there, and lived in Richmond on Main near Boulevard, for a few years actually. I love Richmond!

Good base of a car to start with. Always partial to black ones...

Are you FROM Richmond? I lived on East Grace downtown for a couple of years. Made the move to CA 4 years ago and haven't looked back, but the VA native girl who came with me looked back, and furthermore went back. All for the best though. It's just really different out here if you grew up there, is all.

Sounds like someone dropped 20lbs of marbles in a metal trash can and threw in a few gerbils for good measure. :p

I dont think the valves have ever been adjusted... but it starts up right away and idles decent now...Valve adjustment and Tbelt are getting done this weekend...looking for a new 2.5 to freshen up over the winter.

yeah... I am coming from a long line of VWs, so RWD is new to me, as of now, with the power its got, replacing all suspension parts should help me get used to the differences in FWD and RWD... i need it to handle well and take the time to tweak and improve my driving style a little. When i can outdrive the stock motor with good suspension, i'll worry about more HP
