It was Friday June 8th, 2007 at approx. 1:00 MST. I was laying on my buddies couch, trying to catch some shuteye before i went out with some friends. I passed out as my buddy was cooking some taquitos in his microwave. I am awakened by a knock on the front door. No one is supposed to come over, but i just continue laying there. I hear mumbles, then I hear "Mike, you better come check this out."
So i get up, toss on my glasses and shoes, and walk to the front door. A middle aged women with two children is standing there, and all she tells me that my 1985 BMW 325e has been backed into. The car was parked on the street since i was in front of my buddies house. i walk out to the passenger side of the car, and see this atrocity.

After i vent some frustration the women tells me that a large white truck was backing out of the driveway across the street, paid no attention to my small E30, backed into it, acted like he might get out to tell me, saw the lady who told me about the accident getting out of her, and took off.
So i thought about it, and started to formulate a plan. I DO NOT want to take it to the insurance company, or get the police involved, becasue if it came down to it i knew i could fix it for free. So anyways, i wait for the gentleman to get home, thinking it was the homeowner, because the witness said it looked like that truck that was there all the time. He doesnt come home, and the house across the street is being sold. So i called the Realtors, and told them i needed to talk to the homeowners immediately. They tell me they will give them my phone number and name. So i go to my buddies house and party it up and wake up the next day.
On Saturday i wake up and chill and get a phone call from the hhomeowner. he says that he has been in Payson (a place about 2 hours away) since 11:00 AM on Friday June 8th. I dont believe him, based on my current evidence. The homeowner tells me that there is a cleaning crew that cleans his home, and that one of the cleaners has a large white truck, similar to theirs. I take that under notice and continue arguing with this pissy old man.
After i fond out different things from different people i still dont believe this old man, tell him i am calling the police, and hang up.
I call the police, and i find out some depressing news. There is not enough information to take a report. i do not know the license plate number. So i lose on that note.
So now i am in the process of talking to the cleaning crew, and the guy that was supposed to come out, said he sent out two other people, which is most likely total bullshit. But i will see.
All in all, it sucks, but the car is gettting painted at the end of summer anyways, so using the door from my red car for the time being is no big deal. Though i would like the prick who ran from the accident to pay the $1247.05 quote i got for all new parts at North Scottsdale BMW. That would be very nice, but not too sure if it will happen. I have to get a hold of the cleaning guy.
But now i have another damaged E30. Damnit.
