I was seriously hoping that all the snobbery and idiocracy that plagues the Honda Community wouldn't be here. Unfortunately after reading through the forums today several threads have shown me thats not exactly true.

I am relaxed, but never once have I considered deriding someone who's down on their luck by making an ignorant joke. It may not have been intended to harm, but unfortunately adding a "j/k" does not change the fact that it did.

Especially when you consider that in the big picture E30's are no less common or special than Hondas. I understand that everyone thinks their car is somehow different or otherwise superior to another in some particular aspect. This is why we chose, and continue to choose a particular vehicle over others. But all things aside, I would be buying another Honda if my current living situation allowed me to have a more secure means of storing my vehicle. Luckily, in my particular local 17 year old BMW's are not all that alluring to anyone, especially thieves. Thus it was a large part of my decision to purchase my current car.

I've learned that first impressions are not always the most important, so I hope that at least some of you respect other people and their choice of vehicle. I also hope that the people on this forum are smart enough to not lump people into a group based off the actions of a few, just as I have elected not to do.

    Thanks for listening.

    I feel alot better now.

    Sorry for going off topic.
Classless and rude is kind of the in thing over here in R3Vland, but you make a good point. Just try to look at it as an attempt to inject some levity into what must surely be a very depressing situation.

And yeah, there aren't many cars that are less uncommon than E30s, and people tend to forget that. That said, there are some pretty goddamn special E30s on this board, and more useful information than you could ever hope to digest. And for every arrogant prick who's Dog's gift to the BMW community, there must be 5 guys on here who know almost everything there is to know about these cars and will share that at the drop of a hat!

I love new cars with all the gadgets and gizmos they come with, but for some reason I have a stronger attraction for nice well taken care of older vehicles.

Keep an eye on Ebay and binderbulletin.org...they're not real common, but when they pop up they go cheap! Decent aftermarket and online support, too.

I've owned a metric fuck ton of E30 Parts cars, however in terms of drivers.

My E30 was my first car, a bone stock 86 automatic eta.

Here it was in its early days

During the Auto - Manual swap, I bought another 86 325 5spd for 450 bucks, was in fairly rough shape, but ran great, this was my daily for several months.

only picture I can find, blue on blue, no heater core, blown speakers, shocks, etc

I really regret selling it, as I'm currently looking for a Pro3 Racecar chassis, but I'm sure its still on the road somewhere, and I did fix it up before selling it.

After i sold the hooptie, I bought a 92 4runner as my daily driver, put 100K miles on that thing and loved every min of it. Was a great rig and took loads of abuse.

I sold that in March, and bought a brand new 2007 Nissan Xterra Off-Road 6SPD, which is my current daily driver. Plenty of power, and is just a great daily driver.

                              Thats all at the moment.

I go through a lot of cars but these are my daily's from just this past year.

                                Sold in May 06

                                Sold in August 06

                                Sold in February 07

                                I downgraded to this 2002 4Runner.

This is my 4th or 5th Toyota truck and I dont know what it is about these things but I absolutely love them. As soon as I finish the E30, I have a bunch of work to do on this thing like a lift etc.

I need a truck but dont want to drive on all year round. I will start looking for a summer daily driver next spring. I'm leaning towards an E38 or E39.
