i bet that thing has a boost leak like no other looking at those welds, you cannot effectively mig weld somehting like this because tacking it doesnt penetrate worth a shit, so every spot you tack is a weak spot TIG is the only way to go with something that has to hold something i.e. water, air,

I bet you it doesn't. I know this because we leak tested the pipe. I do know what you mean though, because it leaked at first and we had to go over it.
Actually, there is only one IC pipe that is mig welded, and the blow off on it is tig welded. Everything else uses silicone couplers.
I still dont know how 4inch got under that thing, like all these guys are saying, i scrap with stock eta exhaust. Anyways, Im curious to know if you;ve got any lag coming off the line of do you spool quickly? Im not too familiar with gas turbos, but the diesels that i've worked on had lag running 5 inch pipe, but this motor made something like 1000 foot lbs of torque so the instant the turbo kicked in and ran to 45psi it would plant you in the seat.
With that said, and judging by the size of the downpipe, i really dont see how you would lose that much flow with a 3 inch. The bigger the pipe the longer it takes the exhaust to exit based on the larger volume. Thats my whole thing though, just seems like 3 or 3.5 would be plenty fine with 12 psi.
Looks functional, and pretty powerful though. (btw the cummins diesel refered to earlier is running 12s on stock dual wheels, 3500 extended cab)
I'll be running 15psi, so I hope this will give me a little more top end. Probably sufficient for 12psi, but there should be some gain at higher power levels. It spools up at about 3k rpm with the 4".
When I get the 2.7L low compression bottom end in there, I'm hoping to run around 18lbs of boost.
