    Hi,

I bought a 1989 E30 325is. It is more an E30/36 hybrid. It have a M50 engine, M3 E36 flywheel/clutch, E36 325 transmission, 3.25 lsd diff, E36 5 lugs conversion, E36 325 front brakes, 318ti/Z3 rear brakes and Z3 steering rack. Others goodies are Bilstein dampers, H&R Sport springs, strut bar, SS braided brake lines, rear adj camber/toe, brake brass guides.

It is not only my first E30 car but my first rwd car too. I used a fwd car as a daily driven and as a lapping/time trial car. After 5 years as an all purpose car, it is enough. The car needs a break. It will continue as a dd car only.

The E30 will be the new track toy but it is not ready for the track. Many things need to be done before. I do not talk about mods, it is already a good starting point and i need to know better the car and have more seat time before i start to modify it. It is about many small(well not so small after all) things that must be fixed before it will be reliable enough.

It behave so differently, it will take some time to being accustomed to this E30. But i am already sure that it will be a lot more fun than the previous fwd car.

I found the 5 lugs conversion section very interesting. I am a bit confused when i look at the suspension mods. What camber plate i must use? E30 or e36? Is the e30 front swaybar will fit or the e36 struts will cause a problem? I read a lot but that's did not answer all my questions. I will need to ask question someday and take the risk to be called a freakin newbie that needs to know how to use the search function. :)

True, it was on ebay. But the buyer finally do not buy the car. I bought it directly from the owner at least 1 month later.

Thats the car that some jarhead was selling recently .
It definitely has some issues, the rust and body panel fitment come to mind .
Not to mention the caster issues .

But it deoes have a bunch of decent parts on it .
You should consider dropping the 3.73 back in it as the M50 does not have enough grunt to adequately propel it around even with the 1-to-1 5th .
The 3.73 will really wake that thing up .

As far as the camber plates , you will need the E30 pieces .
Same goes for the anti-roll bars .

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to R3v .

Aha I see the car. It was the one in VA or something.

We posted a thread about it a while back .
Its the Alpine car with the DSI's .

Remember the pics had some chick in them and in one pic she was crouched out of view trying to hold down the hood or something .

Would be good buy if the price was adjusted accordingly .

Yeah it looked like with a little downward adjustment for the required paintwork, it could have been quite a good deal!
