did someone say ALPINA vert replica?

well, its not really a replica, but it does have alot of Alpina looking stuff on it.

some of you may remember I said I was recieving a vert in trade for fixing the red 325i U.S. model. I gave the car to my German buddy who helped me throughout my repaint on my M3 and he did a ton of the work on fixing the red car.

so on to the car.--- it is a euro 1986 325i no cat car originally. It now has a U.S. 1988 Super eta motor in it(dont ask) but it will be right in a few weeks.

    M tech I rear apron " "
    Alpina Kopis
Alpina blau paint- from the e46/e39s
and a bunch of other goodies. and many more to come.

enjoy the pics, the car is still only about 60% done
    here are the pics

Mike 86 was the first year EU spec Vert? I thought it was 87 as Baur was still selling Verts until late 89 and I know they were being sold for a short period of time but not three years.

Oh and for all those DB vert drivers they now have something to aspire towards. I would imagine with the Super E engine the car will not suffer get up and go. Torque being the key here.

        nice hooptie.

If it had real alpina wheels, and a gold deko kit instead of silver, it'd be perfect in my eyes.

86 is the oldest I have heard of. this thing is in awesome shape as far as rust goes. only welded up about 3 small places before the paint. I know that Baur even built some facelift models also.

Yeah Baur sold well into 89 as I have seen two plastic bumper Grey markets in Alexandria.

I agree with you dave, but gold is totally 80s--(for us older people) as well as 16" bent alpinas for 1000000000000000000euros on ebay. he is younger, and tried to make it a little bit more "newage" looking- the Alpina color is the newer one, as well as the decal set- for post e36 cars.
the 17" also go along with the German TUV thing. 16' Alpinas are a battle to get legally allowed on the car nowadays, wheras the car already had 17" rim allowance in the title.-- same reason it has 205/40 instead of something a bit "meatier"

At least he went with period lighting vs Ellipsoids.

actually, the smoked ellips are not yet installed, as well as the smoked star-tec rears. waiting to get the new TUV and get it registered first. the lower front springs should also be put in it this weekend too.

A new top is coming this winter, the prices drop to about half in the winter time, and this summer he plans on only driving it a few times.

there are still a ton of plans for this car, these are kinda just teaser pics- it still isnt on the road yet.

did you guys get Alpina stickers with your Kopis? none came with these, just fake BMW badges that dont say BMW.

                          another pic.

Gorgeous car Mike. Love the "kit", it flows really well, despite the mixed components. I love the euro bumpers, I wish I could find a nice euro E30 over here to start working on.

If it gets a hardtop I would do a Weismann unit as it is the fancier of the two with nicer exterior that's got perfect skim coat for custom paint and the leather interiors are to die for.
