My E30 M3 s50b30

Okay guys, the engine is now almost finished!
This has taken a while, since I work a lot and have spent the last year looking for a place to buy for me and my girlfriend :)

Well, here she is... (The engine, not the girlfriend!)
I have swapped for the E34 325 oil sump and pickup to fit in my E30 M3, and inspected the engine all over and it looked pretty good! Even the bearings looked good :)
Have also cleaned it up and painted the covers etc. to make it look as good as possible. Changed the wiring harness from a RHD to LHD harness too...
Only thing to do now is new spark plugs and oil filter, and I need to repair the threads for one of the bolts for the valce cover :( They were ruined when I bought the engine, but I forgot it by now... so I'll just drill it up and install a new thread insert to keep the stock bolts with the rubber-things :)

AND! I will paint the intake too before I'm dropping her in the car :)

They had Sierras in Argentina. I remember when they came out because an uncle of mine works for Ford down there. I remember thinking to myself "Why is he so excited about this 'Ford'?" haha. Little did I know that that "ford" was giving the rest of the DTM field hell at the time.

Hi again! Long time no see...

One year old dust!
Took the car out of storage. The engine is finished, and it was time to put it in the car. It's been very precisely one year since I took it out.








And today, this happend...






A bit tight clearance to between the radiator and air filter. Actually, NO clearance. Will have to bend down the air filter. No problem :)

Hehe, part no. of the air filter? You will have to check the K&N Air Filter catalouge then. I don't know, it's an universal cone air filter.

Okay guys, time for a small update...
I have welded the rust in the floor, painted it and installed some sound deadening material.
I have also painted up the pedals and mounted brand new ///M Pedals, and mounted the gear shifter. So now it's almost done... lol ;)
Got my new wiring harness today, so I will start with that tomorrow!

I am looking forward to get the wiring harness done, and toss in the carpet again winkeye

Test fit of the original manifolds!
They don't fit at all. To much conflict with the ARB and the subframe...
I think I will buy the Turner Motorsport headers which is made especially for the M50 / S50 conversion. I may modify the original ones, but I think I will keep them original, they are a piece of art ;)
