I was discussing that with TJ online after I saw this thread, and to quote what I told him "verbatim"

The Sportmax wheels are well-suited to a drifter's purposes. If they get broken in accident, you aren't crying over $1200 wheels getting broken. If a tire monkey fucks up your rim putting on those stretched tires, you aren't going nuts. Also, they look decent but I will admit the universal 4-lug pattern is untasteful. The solid gold this guy painted his wheels are pretty fucking sick though.

However I will admit, in a true road race or endurance event, I would never rely on the reliability of these wheels. I would trust a true 4x100 forged wheel such as SSR. But if you are just mashing around your car in a parking lot drift event, they are perfect.

thanks for all the positive feedback guys. im really liking the way my car turned out. i wasnt sure bout the side skirts and fender spacing but it turned out pretty good i think.

n2motorsports-not taurus..and yes matt panic was there. hes actually drifting for drift office now in this red 20v coupe ae86. heres a pic of matt fuckin killin it. he actually won the event.


brand c- this is exactly why i dont spend huge money on wheels...

TJ- the paint is engine enamel gold paint. i just did a quick no prep spray on the wheels. no clear coat either. can probably be picked up at your local auto part store

e30 damen. the event was at evergreen speedway in Monroe. there is another event on the 22nd and it should be a good one..

Ray - its only gonna get better too. haha i still have plans.

jesse e30- you should definitely try to make it to next years picnic. the more the better.

Paint them all bronze I say. What really blows me away is that this is your track car! It looks really clean to be that, but props to you! Seriously it looks like all the panels are straight too...

im really leaning towards painting them all gold. i like it a lot. as far as the track car thing...i was gonna keep it nice but then i just kept buying suspension stuff for it and said screw it. drive it the way i built it. lol. the car was all straight till this event but even that isnt that bad. also this car has been through hell and back. its just been fixed right so you cant really tell until you get real close...
