    Sexytime...

Well I don't know how I did it, but after 20 years since my Dads last BMW, I managed to convince him to get another one sight unseen. My Dad bought a brand new L7 back in the 80's and absolutely hated the car. Well fast forward 20+ years to this past July and he suggests we go take a look at the new BMW convertibles. I was floored! We went to the local dealer and looked at a couple of different models and he was particularly interested in the 2007 M Roadster until he found out its only available in a 6 speed. My Dad is 63 and his only interest is whether or not he can get a set of clubs in the trunk and that the vehicle be an automatic. He wasn't at all interested in the new 3 series and didn't want to have anything to do with a used E46 M3 vert. The E92 M3 vert's aren't supposed to hit until spring and he really wanted something now.

So we made our way over to the new 650 vert and poked around. We ended up taking it for a test drive and he really liked it. The one we drove was a tip and the whole time I kept prodding him to take a look at the M6. He was interested and checked out a coupe they had on the floor, but the dealer didn't have any vert's and the sales guy couldn't give us an answer as to how long it would take.

Well last week I happened to be driving by the local Porsche/Audi dealership and what do you know, a used 2007 M6 vert with 3000 miles. I snapped a picture on my phone and sent it to my Dad (who now lives in Ohio) and he replied "how much?". I replied with the price and he asked if they could do better.

So I went in on my day off last Thursday and started asking questions. I took it for a drive, talked some more, and negotiated a pretty good deal in my opinion. This car has every single option offered and I've seen them list as high as $125k used

Needless to say my Dad bit on it, wired the money, and I picked her up today.

    This fucker is pretty fast...

    heads up bullshit...

Best part is, I get to drive it until the transport arrives next week!

That is a beautiful car. I drove one in the Susan G. Koman drive for the cure earlier this year. I like my e30 vert better! (LOL)

If I'm not mistaken, the new m6 very is the most expensive production vehicle BMW has sold.

Looks very nice. Must be a blast to drive.

Yup, I'm with you Matt. My first choice would be an Alpine coupe.

Pasha, thats my parents place. They recently moved to Ohio, but they bought this house to have a place to stay when they're in Minneapolis.

Ted, thats the funny thing.... He's NEVER seen the car let alone drive one. I guess I have some sales skillz. I have to say that after driving around all afternoon in this thing, I'm starting to really like SMG. It has a bit of a learning curve but its pretty nice. I think if I had an M6, I would opt for the SMG.

Thats a sweet car. Congrats to your dad.

Does this one have the color coded/numbered golf club card in the trunk? I know the E60 and E65/6 have them. They show how to arrange the golf bags in the trunk for maximum storage efficiency.

Gave me a good laugh the first time I saw it.
