    back in black

Its been hectic for awhile after finishing school, starting up at the dealer and getting my new place sorted out. I was driving the car almost 3 hours a day for 3 weeks straight and it performed flawlessly. I had also done a pile of work to it in the meantime. Here are the results.

believe it or not, i painted this front end (minus the hood) less than 2 months ago.

In the past 2 months alone I replaced the clutch and flywheel (wrong pilot bearing) replaced knock sensor, starter, added flanges to the ebay headers so I could unbolt the entire exhaust, installed 205/50/16 tires, painted the front end, installed the turn signals, installed an electric fan and removed the clutch fan, replaced the rear wheel bearing, and fixed a lot of little things that were bugging me about the car. This is my daily, it gets over 30 mpg on the highway and runs damn near perfect, just keeping it going and planning more power.

Damn, those tires look really meaty for some reason. Guess I am used to 17's these days. I think your car could pull off 17's really well with the body work it's got. But it's looking great, and I like to see it without the basketweaves you had forever.

    RISING EDGE

Let's drive fast and have fun.

Is that chip's or dirt on your freshly painted front end?

Sick car. Executed the bumper swap very nicely. Do you mind telling how you did the rear?

I remember the first time I painted my front end. I was really impatient with it, and it started getting chips about 2mo. after. But the second time I took a little more time with it(still pretty impatient), and I'm going on 6mo without any chips.

thanks guys. yea its chipping up front already. this time i used a laquer based paint 2 stage color and clear. 2 liberal coats each and a fan coat right after. i have always had a problem with chips and probably always will. I spend a lot of time on the highway.

the side skirts are kamei and they havent been made in many years. rear valance is racing dynamics 3 piece from way back in the day.

rear bumper i trimmed the end rather than trying to cut and section it like the trend has become. I think its easier to match the ends up after trimming than it is to put the bumper back together after cutting it in two, too much potential for cracks.
