Did you primer and clear coat as well? Would you happen to have a link to the paint? I want this exact finish, looks great.

Alright, not BMW, it's Ford... But here's what I did to the VC on my 65 with a 4.9 I6:

    Forgive the shitty cellphone pic...

Was this before he switched to the stock airbox? And before he plugged in the coolant temp sensor wiring?

The RD one is cool, but it's a kit that includes the coil cover and the injector rail/coil harness cover, which I'm not going to be using, I like the way it looks better without it, like so:

    Ibarra's engine bay, looked familiar!

yeah, there's a bunch of other stuff you'd have to learn first. a write up for each part would fill a book that others can and have written much better than I ever could.

But it would be fake, and I HATE fake CF. I have something fun planned for the metal valve cover, and the CF coil cover will be the perfect compliment to it.

Yeah, when I clean up my m50 engine bay next spring, i want to do the rail/coil harness cover delete plus something fun with the valve cover. the CF one is too spendy for me. hell, you could buy a sheet of CF vinyl and drape it over the original cover for cheap, and I bet it would be hard to tell the difference.
