Official BMW Southeast Fall Rally Pictures and Videos
there should be a PM list for the southeast so everyone knows when meets are
honestly i cant believe you didnt see the thread. It was around for several weeks.
But from what i understand theres going to be one in the spring and possibly one sooner than that.
Thanks man, I had alot of fun with you guys. That is until i got stuck behind robert:p
The bumper debate is dumb. The stock plastic off of a 88.5 plus car is too long for my car. It has to be shortened to fit properly. Thus what i was stating earlier. im not argueing about arches at all
Im not sure what point teager is trying to make...........
LOL.. you were warned. Hopefully next time I will have a completely different engine without the extra smog.
As for your bumpers, if you have the high arches then you will need to measure, cut, and fiberglass the bumper and trim back together.
For the rear valance it is a little more involved. If I had to do it again I would just buy one of the aftermarket MTechII rear valances that fit with the regular plastic bumper.
If you are dead set on doing a 88+ rear valance swap then you will need to chop the valance off of a parts car, fit it, mount it, and then patch up the wheel well overlap with fiberglass. It took about 2 weekends to get it all right.

Yea, im not too excited about fiberglassing and cutting. So Mtech2 is prob my best bet. Are the kopi replicas on abrahms any good?

Robert don't you have a late model valence and bumper on that 4 door shell that would help Matt out if he wanted to do the valence swap ?
We are cleaning out the boneyard at the shop where I work and I saw an '88 car loaded up for the crusher. It may still be around, not sure if the cars have gone yet.
That car had a great rear valance. If it is still around I will grab it for you.
ahh that looks soo much like the roads around asheville (where i used to live), technically they are pretty much the same. Too bad I'm in the wrong continent at the moment. Fix your bumper mattd14312r3 I will not put up with your 1/2 finished cars next time around!!!!
Matt , what I'm saying about the verts is that the platic bumper should fit right on,with the apropriate shocks & side brackets, without the need to shorten/section it .
This is due to the vetr body having the same rear quarters/lower arches as the late model E30's .
Now of course this is no fix for rear valance area , for that you already know what your optiona are .
And suck it up crybaby , I'm not picking on you . ;)
I have a valance that I am about to cut off but we are currently debating whether or not we plan to keep it for the 87is project car.
Unless you have a heated garage I would wait to do fiberglass work until it warms back up. If you can wait until spring I can help you out.
Who is going to make the spring rally thread with camping?
I say make it for mid/early spring right after school is out for the summer. I also say make it a 4 day event so we can plan other things to do together.
I now not everyone can make all 4 days but I would like to make the Spring rally more of an event (with camping of course.)

Lol, the only reason i got pissed is because i got my hopes up. I know the rear arches are the same. So i ran outside to check again and the bumper is indeed too long. About an inch i would say.
Ill post pics tomm.
And yea, julien im hardly putting up with my half finished car. At least i got this far eh? Went from jackstands to kopis lol
