Nice, a R3V hand-me-down car. Those are my old wheels and the car used to belong to Hughjass. Did Pete do the clutch for you?

Nice to know a little history behind it. Actually Kevin did the clutch for me. Is this Bob?

haha my m42's valance is bashed in exactly the same place as yours! I don't know why people can't keep track of where the front of their cars are while they're driving them around.

Body looks good except for that.

Interesting, I figured its doing well as its bought out a lot of the surrounding buildings. I live about 50 yards from them. Oh and good looking car, white is the best

Thank you sirs for the kind words. The body is far from perfect but is still quite straight. There isn't any rust aside from a scratch that didn't get repaired which has a little. But there are a few dings here and there and the passenger fenders are both dicked up pretty bad which leads me to believe that the original owner could not drive, park, or is very unlucky. It is a good ten footer though :D

Edit: And don't hate on blunt's ability to install a clutch, he is old and can only do so many things at one time

It was not doing that great in the early 80's. He was supposed to purchase it for only a couple milion but BMW backed out.

The beast is stripped of all carpet and sound deadening, as well as the whole rear interior. I am thinking about putting in carpet as well as the rear seats as soon as i can find a black interior to match the front sport seats. I'll also be picking up the rear cage in the near future when i can get its captor to pause from his busy life of drawing cock and balls on everything.

I spent about 6 hours saturday washing, claying, 3 step buffing, and sealing it. I hope to have a few of the dents pulled in the near future and this winter i will be doing a bit of body repair in my down time.

hey if youre so fucking smart why didnt you pull the tranny yourself then you could speak with some authority instead of regurgitating some bullshit someone told you? do you really think a car could travel over 2k miles without a throwout bearing? the fingers on the pressure plate were broke for the second time. dont spread bullshit when you dont know what the fuck youre talking about

This is not the first time i have heard of people not putting a pilot bearing in. BAD IDEA! The car will be fine for a while, but everytime you stomp the clutch in there will not be any support for the input shaft. This means that there is more force on the gears inside the gearbox, and it can cause many problems. A bearing is like $4 and takes about 1 seconds to install ( if the gearbox is out lol ) so i dont see why someone wouldnt put one in other than the fact they didnt know what it was for. Also, I have been told that some people dont use all the bolts for the transmission ( usually the ones at the top that are hard to get at ) in drift cars and stuff because they are having to pull the box all the time, but if ya not doing that, i think its a good idea to put them all in.

In all honesty i was just giving Blunt shit. There could be a large number of reasons why the clutch/pp went out. The tech who replaced my clutch said that he didn't see a pilot bearing. It very well could have been a problem in the transmission that caused a repeat failure. Fuck for all i know the bearing shattered into pieces. I have full faith in Blunts abilities to build cars as i have seen his attention to detail first hand on numerous cars, just giving him shit.
