    Claybarred the iX tonight

The pix suck so I won't be posting "before, during and after" pix, just the final work.

The M635 is now sitting angrily outside while the iX gets some love...while acting as a bit of a guinea pig.

I'm going to have my first swing with my GlossHaus kit and my new Griots orbital tomorrow (I opened my Christmas present early).

For those of you who haven't used clay bar, I really recommend it. First of all, you'll get to know your paint better than you ever have just washing it. Second, it feels soooooooooo smooth afterwards. I can't wait to see what it is like after the kit. This is one of the shots from their website, and while the iX isn't *quite* this bad off, it does need some help.

This is what Glosshaus did for a buddy of mine (now featured on their site):

Once I'm sure I've got the hang of things, the M635 is next!

Yea - scanning the site you can get the idea. I've seen it work in person and it is pretty amazing!

They aren't cheap, but they are the best combination of stuff I've ever seen. Dave (owner) did a lot of research and tried to create a system that gave the best possible results. Once you buy a kit, you can purchase the individual items. I went with the Base Refinishing Kit (see link) since I already had my own microfiber, random orbital and other items - it is liquids and pads only.

Here are the pix of the car post-clay - definitely needs polish and help for the paint...

Hood shots - you can see the acid rain/hard water marks... (light/pix suck)

Car (I'm so embarrassed w/ how messy my garage is that I've spent all morning cleaning it out):

Lasurblau Metallic (Lapis Blue?) - close enough to Avus that I really like it...

wait 'till you see it after - looks like it might be a day or two from now though...
