    Introducing my E-30 and I

Hey all, I've been lurking here for awhile so bout time I introduce us :)

I was on the hunt for a summer toy/project, and was actually looking at drop top mustangs as I owned a 02 GT and really liked it. But on a Saturday morning in late May on my way to work I spotted her on the way to work, less than a mile from my house. She was half covered with a tarp, with a for sale sign... so I pulled over and took a quick look, $1500 the sign read. She was super dirty and rough looking, but pretty strait, 142K and appeared to be all there.

I called the guy from work and he told me he had picked it up over a year ago as a project from a guy at work and it had sat in his garage as is since, he said show up with $900 and its yours. OK so my last experience with E-30's was in the 80's when I was working in body shops putting quarter panels on these things, so other than that I basically knew nothing about them.

Quick search on the net and found parts to be readily available and a pretty large community that is into them. So i went there after work, basically it was driven till it couldn't be anymore. Leaking rad, broken shock mount, interment fuel pump etc. etc.

As I was looking at it the PO's 10 year old son was doing flips into and out of the interior and I thought to myself that if I want this I better get it out of here now! So on a leap of faith I paid him ( and promised not to return it under the lemon law, he was sooo worried about that) and took it home..

Fast forward 5 months and 10K miles later... I fell in love with this thing! New radiator, water pump etc, timing belt, valve adjustment tune-up and things. Somewhere in the past the car drove over something large, so I replaced the suck welded oil pan and the fogs. Replaced the exhaust front to back, new cat and Scorpion cat-back.

I started following this forum after the Bav auto show in Oct.(someone there gave me a heads up about it), have read 100's of threads and really gotten a feel for what I like and don't. You guys have helped me tons with all the info on here and am now a daily reader.

That being said over the last few weeks the H&R sports/Bilsteins went in, new control arms and Treehouse cabs. Re-painted the trim, including shadow lining it. Next up is the diving boards, ugly ass fogs and valance, I'm working on acquiring the plastic bumper set up now as I plan on spraying it this winter. And after studying 100's of cars on here I've asked Santa for Ronal LS's. Anyway, super psyched I came across this car and this forum.

    Thanks, Chris

Looks good. You got overspray in your interior with it masked off like that. Where are the black sleeves that go over the rear shock?

Looks like a good start, welcome and it looks like you are already aware of the harsh criticism that is used frequently. Cant wait to see it with some Ronal's. You are very lucky being located around Boston since they have a great community up there.

Actually I didn't get any overspray in the interior, and the black tubes were missing from the PO (along with the correct washers on the shocks). I bought the tubes since, just gotta throw em on.
