02's and 03's had glass windows...AP2's started in 2004. 03's are the best year to own, IMO.

S2000s had plastic windows until 2002 when they switched to glass. In the 2002 they also changed a few things such as putting chrome rings in the tail lights and adding a leather center console instead of the lame carpet. This trend continued with the AP2 where it received revised suspension, engine, and radio cover, and an 8k cluster as well as various cosmetic changes.

I'm not as adept with my ISO and exposure settings yet. Plus my tripod is kind of crappy and I have very little patience.

Maybe if I can get one of those remote actuator attachments I can feel confident with increasing the exposure.

Edit: I now see page 2.. yeah your ISO is at 1600 and Im going to assume his was at the lowest (exif doesnt show). No need for a remote shutter for these types of shots, just set it up on the tripod and use the self timer. When doing shots like these put your camera in "Av" (aperture priority) and set it to 5.6 to 8.0, set your ISO no higher than 400 but lower the better, and usually setting the white balance to "flash" works pretty well.

In general Canons have better noise control than Nikons due to the CMOS vs. CCD sensor factor. You were just using the camera improperly. Set the camera to ISO 100, f/8 and adjust the shutter speed accordingly.
