^Thanks. I'm in San Antonio. I go up to DFW every now and then as I have a cousin that lives in Mckinney. Bought a cylinder head from a member on here from Dallas (DallasE46) as well.
I'll give you a shout if I get up there soon. I am thinking about heading up there to pickup an Is front spoiler that's on Ebay right now to save on shipping ($140!). Her eta needs some styling."A good memory for quotes combined with a poor memory for attribution can lead to a false sense of originality."

Here is the latest mod to the turbo car... new boots courtesy of Matt. They are a damn good deal at $29/set. Sure they look easy to make, but I would much rather pay someone else and get a good product.
I also built a fiberglass pod for a GPS (garmin nuvi 660) for the dash but need to take some completed pics. Here's some of the in progress ones.

Latest Mod: Fog light rehab. 1/25/11
I didn't take pics along the way as I was rushed... but it turned out beautifully. As any e30 owner knows, a decent set of fogs runs $100 (pitted) - $200 (like new). I wanted the "like new" look, for the used price. As a result I ordered a couple of plastic replacement lenses from www.bmwlight.com. They ran $60 shipped to my door.
They are a very nice product and fit almost as good as OEM. Installation requires either baking your fog lights to get the old glass lenses off (usually in pieces), or using a heat gun light I did and go section by section (again usually in pieces). Took the better part of 3 hours to get the old lenses off, disassemble, clean, and paint all the different portions of the housing... like I said, I wanted "new" looking fog lights. Then of course it took a good 12 hours for the silicon to set, and 10 minutes to reinstall.
Here is the result.
I am very pleased with the product and will be ordering another set for the convertible after we get back from our Florida vacation. My fog lights are now brighter than my headlights and have a super nice cutoff line thanks to the cleaned projector lenses."A good memory for quotes combined with a poor memory for attribution can lead to a false sense of originality."

I have another update coming soon guys. Just did new pads/rotors, oil catch can, cosmetics, and some other stuff on the way.
I'm trying to get the car ready for the 3500 mile road trip coming up in 3 weeks! I'm running out of time."A good memory for quotes combined with a poor memory for attribution can lead to a false sense of originality."

Ok so I promised an update. Underestimated mileage on the trip... should be somewhere around 4000. San Antonio > Orlando > Melbourne > Miami and back to San Antonio over 15 days. 3 days away and the wife and I are REALLY looking forward to it.:D
It would be kind of cool if there were an e30 meet or two we could attend while over there... will keep an eye on the regional forums.
Feb 2011
Anywho, for the update. BTW... how do you guys resize images without losing clarity? I just have photobucket do it on upload, but it destroys our new Nikon's picture quality.
Removed mercury sable side skirts and repainted front plastic trim. Will do rear before trip (hopefully).
Added BMW oil bag and the owner's manual book out of a 540i/6 (thanks Mouse) to the trunk. ;)
New rotors/pads on all four corners. Want to put new fluid in as well if I get time. PS: PBR ceramics stop like crazy... and dust like it too. Just FYI. First time using them, but if I can't find an easy way to clean the dust, it will be the last time. Oh ya, I also taped off and re painted all the wheel wells with new undercoating. Looks MUCH better.
Installed an oil catch can because I was tired of dripping oil everywhere from the cam cover "breather." I also installed the windshield washer bottle from an e36 and extended the e30's harness over to the driver's side. We figured it would be nice to have a washer setup again. Look at that sexy new tank. Lastly, "installed" a faux Schnitzer oil cap cover. I know they are cheap China made knockoffs... ask me if I care. Love the way it looks. Finished everything off with an engine detail.
No pics of this mod (other than seeing the e36 318i actuator cable above) is the retrofitting of cruise control. I had a devil of a time doing this because of my LED tail light circuit. I won't go into it here as there is a thread on it in General Technical.
Let me know what you think. I have also been working on finalizing the tuning for the trip so it starts everytime/firstime and runs smooth (as I am able to get it). I will transfer the files from the laptop and upload them tomorrow for anyone who may be able to use them. Will also update the turbo build thread... as always let me know what you think."A good memory for quotes combined with a poor memory for attribution can lead to a false sense of originality."
